Sending Attachments
ClaimConnect does not allow you to send attachments with your initial claim unless you have a FastAttach account with National Electronic Attachment (NEA) or other electronic imaging repository. Such an account lets you transmit X-rays, perio charts, intraoral pictures, etc., via the Internet, for insurance carriers to view in support of electronic claims. If you have such an account, you simply enter the image number(s) for the account in the NEA # field on the online single-claim form, or in the primary comments/insurance notes (or equivalent) field for batch claims submitted through your practice management system.

If you don't have an electronic imaging account, you must await a response from the payer verifying that your claim requires an attachment. This method dramatically reduces the number of attachments that you send. Many insurance companies have reduced or eliminated the number of procedures requiring additional documentation.

For non-MetLife claims, you will be notified in writing that an attachment is required. For MetLife claims, you will be notified electronically and an attachment cover sheet for the claim will be generated.

To send an attachment for a MetLife claim,

1. On the claim form, when asked if radiographs and models are enclosed, select No. Continue completing the form and submit it.
2. Allow adequate time for MetLife to respond and click Claims Search.
3. If the claim requires an image, it will be listed with a status of "Received/Suspended" under Claims With Errors.
4. Click on the "Received/Suspended" message to open the claim.
5. Click the Generate Attachment Cover Sheet button to display the claim-specific cover sheet needed for this claim.
6. Click Print to print the attachment cover sheet and mail it with the requested image to MetLife at the address on the cover sheet.
